Release status

Short terms for a small site.

This page covers using the website. The software has its own license, and until a public release exists, this site grants no rights to it.

What this site is

Documentation and marketing for Helioterm, a local-first browser interface to durable tmux-backed terminal sessions. The content is informational. It describes a pre-release product that can and will change, and nothing on the site is a commitment to ship any feature by any date.

The software and its license

Helioterm's source code carries the MIT license in its repository. However, there is currently no public release artifact and no public source access. Until publication, this website grants no license to the software, and any early access is arranged individually by email.

When a public release exists, the MIT license shipped with that release governs the software. The MIT license comes with the usual deal: free to use, and provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.

Pre-release means pre-release

The project's own documentation says it is not release-ready, and the site repeats that honestly. If you receive early access, you run pre-release software that controls local terminals at your own risk. Read the security documentation, keep the daemon on loopback, and do not point it at machines you cannot afford to break.

Using the site content

Quote it, link it, screenshot it, discuss it. Please do not republish whole pages as your own, and do not present modified screenshots as the real product. The Helioterm name and the lantern mark identify this project; do not use them in a way that implies endorsement.

Third-party software

tmux, Tailscale, and the external CMUX sidecar are separate projects with their own licenses and terms. Mentions on this site are descriptions of how Helioterm interoperates with them, not affiliations or endorsements in either direction.

No warranties, limited liability

The site is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate, and every factual product claim on it is mapped to a source file in the repository, but we do not warrant completeness or fitness for any purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from using this site or acting on its content.

Changes

These terms may change as the product moves toward release. The date above moves when they do. The support guide explains how people with source access can contact the repository owner.
