Release status

No cookies. No tracking. No account.

This website has no analytics, accounts, or forms. The software keeps terminal sessions on your machine. Hosting requests and repository support have the separate footprints described below.

Effective August 6, 2026 ยท Last updated September 7, 2026

What this site collects

Nothing through the page itself. This is a static site: no cookies, no analytics, no ad pixels, no session replay, no contact forms, no third-party embeds, no accounts, and no payments. The fonts and images are served from this domain, so viewing the site makes no requests to any other company's servers.

Hosting logs

The site is served by a static hosting provider. Like effectively all web hosts, the provider's infrastructure may keep technical logs of requests, such as IP address, user agent, and requested path, for operating and protecting the service. We do not add anything to those logs, enrich them, or use them to identify you.

What the software does with your data

Helioterm is local-first software. It runs on your machine, serves its interface over localhost, and has no cloud account and no hosted backend. Your terminal sessions live in tmux on your hardware. In the current v0.1 candidate, the renderer keeps scrollback in memory only, there is no transcript store, and the app registers no service worker, so terminal output is not persisted or cached by the browser app.

If you choose to expose the daemon to your own devices, the documented path is Tailscale Serve, which is private to your tailnet. That is your configuration, on your infrastructure; we never see the traffic.

Repository support

Support for people with source access uses the repository's issue and private reporting tools. Anything you choose to submit there is handled by the repository host under its own privacy practices. Do not include tokens or terminal contents in public reports. The support guide explains the available routes.

Children

The site is developer documentation and marketing for a terminal tool. It is not directed at children. The site provides no account, upload, or contact form.

Changes to this policy

If the site ever starts collecting anything, for example a privacy-respecting page counter, this page will be updated first and the date above will change. No silent switches.

helioterm

Browser access to the durable terminal and agent sessions on your machine. Pre-release; nothing here is a promise of a ship date.
